Hey Thereπ
My name is Jamie Storey
Welcome to my online portfolio!
Always keep moving forward!
Life can be hard sometimes but for me it has always been about perspective. If your perspective is that everything is hard then it will be. If your perspective is that everything can be good with some tough times thrown in then your life moves forward in ways you can't imagine.
I try to live by this 'mantra' every day with some success. I am happy with what I have done so far and am looking forward to what the future has to offer.
Check out what I have done up until now and what I hope to do in the future below!
I have always been a big of fan of pushing my limits. This one of my favourite memories I have of me doing my first ever skydive in Dubai.
Jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet was definitely me jumping outside my comfort zone. π
A memory I will cherish for the rest of my life!
I am a massive dog lover and this is my number one companion Ben. He has been a main stay in my life for the last three years and all through Covid he has been nothing but supportive as I worked in front of him.
He is especially thankful for his lunch time walks!
In December of 2020 I joined HubSpot. While I was unemployed I said to myself no matter what happened I would join a company where I felt valued and pushed to be better.
It is the reason I was able to build this personal portfolio in the first place! A great company with even better people! Looking forward to what is in store for 2022!
Gradguide is an online mentorship programme that helped me land my job at HubSpot. I recently joined back with them as mentor to help new graduates land their first role in tech!
They were a huge help to me and I would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for that little bit of help to land their first role out of college!
Completing My First Marathon
In October 2021 I completed my first ever Marathon. 42.195km of pain and I loved every minute of it.
It was one of the best experiences I have ever done and is another test I pushed myself to do so I could see how far I could go!
Game Day
Although I am smiling here the nerves were well and truly there. I had originally meant to run with two of my friends and they both pulled out because of "injuries" π
However, I didn't let that stop me. I kept training and eventually I made it to the start line. Now all I had to do was run it!
The furthest I ran in training was 33km and I had actually failed 3 runs in attempt to get past 30km so I was very worried about the possibility of not finishing. In the end failure is part of success so I was determined to give it everything I had!
Check out what happened on the next slide!
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
So I may not have won the race but I definitely felt as if I had. Four months of training that led me all the way up to this photo. The pain was all over my body but so was the pleasure of finishing the race with a time of 4 hours 15 minutes!
Creating Content
Early last year I started a creating content through YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram.

How I Landed My Dream Job At HubSpot
I had been working in the airport for over four years and had recently been promoted to a Team Lead after finishing college. I was due to leave to move to Australia with my girlfriend and then Covid hit.
Trip cancelled and job lost. I was very down at that point and didn't really know what I was going to do. However, I did what I always do, I put my head down and got right back at it. I interviewed for companies across a 6 month period until finally I landed my interview for HubSpot.
The day before I landed HubSpot I received my thirtieth rejection letter from a company. If I didn't land HubSpot when I did I would have been hurting but I had a bit of luck on my side and never looked back!
Level Up your LinkedIn
When I was let go from my job in the Airport I was definitely very lost. I had worked in the Airport for four years and never had to do a formal interview process. I didn't have many connections in other companies or other industries.
LinkedIn was a platform I had joined a few years previous but I never used it. However, now I was going to have to learn and I went all in!
I messaged recruiters, hiring managers consistently looking for that edge that would help me land my role. I posted about how I was up-skilling and looking for a new role.
Luckily it worked and to do this day I still post on LinkedIn to try and help others use this widely under utilised platform!
Breakfast Bap Bro's
At the start of 2021 me and my good friend Karl went out running every Saturday and after every run we went for a breakfast bap and a coffee as a reward. (Cue, Habit, Reward π) One day we were sitting down in Malahide by the Marina and talking about some of the locations we had visited.
Then the idea struck us why not go to different locations all over Ireland and try to find the best breakfast bap out there. Breakfast Bap Bro's was born.
We have been to 23 locations and counting. We had to put a hold on it for a couple of months as I was living abroad and Karl was doing his Master's. However, in 2022 we will be back!

This is one of my favourite photos. It is a picture and my girlfriend Leah celebrating me landing my job at HubSpot six months after I started. I was never able to celebrate the win because of Covid but it was a big milestone in my life that deserved to be celebrated.
Me and my girlfriend Leah in Dubai out in the desert doing Dune bashing. An unforgettable trip!
This is my first team night out after ten months at HubSpot. After making so many great friends over Zoom it was lovely to be able to organise an event and meet everyone in person!
While I was working abroad for HubSpot I was able to do some activities that would be otherwise impossible in Ireland in November.
Jet Skiing for an hour was one of those experiences!
What next for Jamie?
The world is very strange right now but there is always an opportunity to move forward and that is exactly what I will be doing in the coming year and beyond!
Always Learning
For me education was not something I always enjoyed. It is only in the last two years that I have really started to get into my groove.
This year 2022 I am going back to college part time to complete a degree in Psychology as it is a topic I have always had a huge interest for.
I am also hoping to become fluent in Spanish in the next couple of years as I have a basic speaking level at the minute after living in Madrid for six months but I want to finish learning the language and have that as an addition to my skillset! π
Build a Business
I have a lot of ambition for myself going forward and the eventual hope if to be able to build a company full of amazing people to deliver a word class service. 'Generic' at the minute I know but I am putting myself into different areas and developing my skills to see what really makes me tick.
I am looking for that one idea that resonates with me and others and I will take it on full throttle!
My time will come π
Building Relationships
I think in a world where people seem to only think about 'building a brand' for themselves they forget that the more people you connect with the more that will stand to you in the long term.
I have always thought building relationships with people first and foremost is a sure way of moving forward. I love understanding why people do what they do and the discovering someones ideas behind their though processes. We are all unique in our own way so understanding each other and connecting with new people is what I am eager to do throughout my career and personal life.
